It´s the next round of our TopFive. This time we are talking kicks. The sneaker boom has reached quite a level in the last couple of years, which is barely believable. There is not much as closely linked to our lifestyle as footwear, and hardly anything is better to express your style and personality with than those laced darlings.
And here we go with my personal TopFive:
- Nike AirMax 87
I guess there´s hardly anyone out there who doesn´t own a pair in their favorite colorway. This is one of the classics par excellence. There are new editions, interpretations and copies every year. A silhouette which almost everyone loves. It´s a clear champion.
- Reebok Omni lite
Definitely a not so frequently represented jewel. As a kid of the 80s though you cannot get back the feeling of being a young gun again better than by pumping the button to finally touch the rim, run faster than others or just be the coolest kid in your hood.
3. Jordan 3 Black Cement
If somebody would´ve told me 15 years ago that there will be a Jordan boom in Germany, I would´ve called them crazy. But there was one. You can still feel it and the prices are more than incredible. I can definitely not share every euphoria about all models of the series, but the Jordan 3 is symbolizing everything from the early 90s for me: rap stars, music videos, the first sneakers I bought for myself, which were not a gift from granny or the parents for Christmas. My pair got stolen in my hallway last year …
4. Jordan 1 New Love
And just another pair of Jordans aka. the mothership. The Jordan 1 in the quite rare colorway in yellow and black. You can´t f*ck with those babies combined with camo cargo pants and a clean white tee. And this is a one of the models which you won´t see at least 3 times strolling through the supermarket while there. Simple and defined. What more can you ask for?!
5. Adidas nmd
Everybody who has read this attentively, will have noticed that not too many releases of recent years were among my TopFive. But when it comes down to comfort the Adidas nmd is definitely a winner! Anyways – with a rubber sole you´ll always get me. Love this one – no matter if barefoot and with shorts or during the colder days with a winter jacket.
