GOOGLE HEADQUARTER /// Zurich (CH)

When in autumn 2016 the phone rang, it was first about a general inquiry: a job during the next months, a team, several dozens of walls. Sounds wonderful, but also like quite a biggie. A job like that is not just fun, but should be handled with seriousness and ease. It was our friend PHIXE21 from Stuttgart who landed the job for this global player, and so he was struggeling during the following weeks and months with planning, organizations and communication before the rest of us started.
In February 2017 everything was ready: PHIXE21, CHAS, HRVBtheWeird and the Homboog fools went to Zurich arriving at the new palace of Google close to the main railway station. While the workers finished the construction site, we started to create round about 3 dozens of walls of different sizes. Individually, in teams of two, as a group. Freely, thematically suitably, freestyle.
Each of the different areas had color schemes which meshed with the office furniture and architecture, so that the result formed a contrast between workspace design and graffiti. However our artworks integrated themselves into the scenery, too. After about 10 days and some late night shifts the project was finished. We had a really good time together, killed a lot of cans and were able to bring graffiti closer to people who are not surrounded by this kind of art on a daily basis. A special thanks to PHIXE21 for the whole organisation and the preliminary work, which most people wouldn’t be able to handle like such a pro.
