After we had started painting this huge mural a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately had to stop due to really bad weather conditions – man it was pouring – we were finally able to finish this wall the last couple of days with a second attempt. The Goethe School in the german part of Rheinfelden right on the swiss boarder is an elementary school with students from 28 different nations. Working together with the head of school and the city council we developed a design which incorporates the world of the kids, the fun learning something new and also the internationallity of this school. So we were pretty free in what we wanted to do.
Fifty hours of work later this biggie was done and even though the kids were not around to watch us paint due to summer holidays, we hope that they’ll be back the first day of school happy and excited about the final result. We’ve had a couple of younger and older visitors while working and heard from one student that her school is finally cool. We are more than happy to hear that.
We’d especially like to thank the city of Rheinfleden (Germany) and the Goethe School for trusting us, company Kohler for the lift and also Molotow for their colorful support. Looking forward to the next big project.
