This morning at 6am our mission started: the alarm clock rang and was the starting signal of our very first HOMBOOG Fastlane Tour. To keep it international we started our 72 hour painting marathon in Switzerland. Basel tried to show off with some clouds and we jumped into the cars while it was still raining. With our 2 tour cars packed up to the roof, we arrived at Schäfermatte and luckily the weathergod Petrus seemed to be a graffhead in the end and the rain stopped. The dry wall allowed us to stick to our timetable. We painted for about 2 hours for the first wall of the tour and left Basel a pink and tourqouise HOMBOOG style. In exchange our friends from BROOKLYN BREWERY SWITZERLAND took good care of us – for sure we won’t be thirsty in the next 72 hours. Cheers! Ahead of our schedule we were able to hit the highway to continue our way to HOMBRE’s hometown Mannheim. This is were we also painted our first big mural together as Team HOMBOOG with the Highest Carb Wall for the StadtWandKunst project a couple of years ago. Good memories for us. Arriving at the wall in pretty humide climate, we started to unpack right away and were able to start without too much of a rush. First visitors, helpers and supporters arrived and spoiled us with care packages, cake and moral support. With this being the second wall and already 300km on the road, we were a little slower – and time was ticking away. At 21:30 o’clock at night we left Mannheim happy and full after a great dinner. Off to Frankfurt and back on the road again. And no we just crashed at the MOTEL ONE EASTSIDE to take a shower, prepare for tomorrow and than jump into bed for a short but good night of sleep. The first day of our tour went as planned and we were not just able to check all the boxes, but also had a great time on the road. Two out of six walls are done. Tomorrow we are going to paint in Frankfurt and we are also looking forward to show up at DEDICATED in Cologne. Stay tuned and thanks for following along!
