We always like to be the good guys. Of course you should prove that from time to time. And when a few weeks ago from the Nuremberg area voices were said that you want to do good for a family on the ground, it was of course a matter of honor to help with skills, reach and connections to make some money, to bring some pleasant hours or days in these Kids life. The good guys of Sykeagraphics and the Gallery Eisdiele decided to launch a charity auction. Handpainted sketches on cardboard to emphasize sustainability. One man`s garbage – another man`s treasure. Local artists and international friends did not have to be asked for a long time and were immediately enthusiastic about the idea. So we received some postings, some artworks we have collected, and still others were completed just minutes before the opening at the gallery.
February 10th was showtime. During the day you could get an idea of the variety and quality of the artworks with good music and a cup of coffee. The outside facade of the gallery was transformed a little bit live and around 7pm it was time for the auction…
The audience was a good mix of active graffiti writers, fans and art enthusiasts. After around 90 minutes every 25 artworks had changed hands. Few guys were finally been able to get hold of an original of their favorite artist and the family was stunned to see how many people were willing to help.
We would like to thank all those who participated. Artists, organizers, interested people and every helping hand.
