Those guys are definitely an institution in the European graffiti scene and started working those cans more 30 years ago. ROMEO & MEGA aka THE NASTYSONS are one of those rare graffiti tagteams who are still pushing their limits and who regularly deliver really dope wall productions. We asked those friendly dutchmen our questions and for the first time on HOMBOOG.COM we have an interview with two guys at the same time. Let’s get nasty!
Please introduce yourself in a few words!
ROMEO from daddies nasty sons. started writing in 1984 and still active till today
MEGA from the nasty sons, residing in the north of Holland and writing since 1984.
1. Maybe some words about us: When and how did you noticed Hombre & Boogie for the first time?
ROMEO: To be honest, i heard about the both of you many years before i met you guys.
Thanks to internet fame travels faster than light, rock on Homboog!
MEGA: I know Hombre’s work for quite some time, I was amazed with the sharpness and skills of his characters since I first laid eyes on his work. I noticed Boogie’s a few years ago (don’t know exactly how many years), he has that funky flavoured style that really rocks. Together they’re a great team!
2. How important is your profession in your private life? Are there also some negative aspects?
ROMEO: We are not making money from painting, so for us it is just a hobby, sometimes people think we are doing childish things, but most of the time we get positive feedback.
MEGA: Besides being a writer, I earn a living as a graphic designer. That blends very well.
3. Do you have Idols?
ROMEO: My biggest idol in the writing world is Seen, unbelievable whole cars ,style, color etc. etc.
MEGA: Idols is a big word, it is more that I appreciate a lot of writers for their style, skills or things they are doing.
4. Which gift do you wish to have?
ROMEO: I would wish I had the skills that hombre has with the whole character thing.
MEGA: A photographic memory, then it would be easy to paint everything I want and as big as I want.
5. Your best travel destination till now?
ROMEO: Since I am totally into old school hip hop i have to say New York, but there is something good to find everywhere.
MEGA: New York! To paint in the city where it all started was magic!
6. Backpacker or 5 Stars?
ROMEO: Give us the 5 star hotel, but we always end up in a backpack hostel hahahahaha
MEGA: Somewhere in between, When we travel we are usually painting most of the day so as long as there is a decent bed and a shower, I’m fine with it
7. Rock, Rap or Elektro?
ROMEO: Electro rap, great memories of the eighties
MEGA: Oldschool rap and 80’s electro/freestyle music.
8. Low Carb or Candy Madness?
ROMEO: Take me to the candy shop
MEGA: Candy madness for sure
9. Soccer or Wrestling?
ROMEO: None, but I will wrestle every sucker that goes over our stuff… no just joking 😉
MEGA: Not a big fan of sports.
10. Your 5 daily essentials?
ROMEO: breathe, eat, drink, sleep and …..
MEGA: Coffee, sunshine, music, drawing/painting and friends/family
11. Favourite movie?
ROMEO: Starwars, style wars, electric boogaloo, breakin, breaking and entering ,writers etc. etc.
MEGA: Stylewars. That movie changed my life
12. 6 Alltime favorite songs?

13. What are your wishes for the future – private and global?
ROMEO: I hope i can come back next year with super duty tough work
and hopefully we will do some nice productions and meet new friends
MEGA: Travel more and paint more… and globally no more war
and of course painting a wall with the both of you 😉
